Wallace & Gromit getting a cracking update at Pleasure Beach Resort

Blackpool's Pleasure Beach Resort has announced exciting new updates to its much-loved Wallace & Gromit’s Thrill-O-Matic attraction – celebrating the success of the dynamic duo’s latest film, Vengeance Most Fowl.

Five new scenes and characters from the BAFTA-winning film are set to debut on the ride this summer. These include fan favourites like the mischievous Feathers McGraw—now sporting a new look—and Wallace’s latest invention-turned-villain, the robotic garden gnome Norbot.

The enhancements mark the first major update to Wallace & Gromit’s Thrill-O-Matic since its launch in 2013. The dark ride takes guests on a whimsical four-minute journey through iconic moments from films' A Grand Day Out, The Wrong Trousers, A Close Shave, A Matter of Loaf and Death, and The Curse of the Were-Rabbit, all aboard a giant slipper.

Pleasure Beach Resort’s in-house creative team, PB Studios, is collaborating closely with Aardman, the creators of Wallace & Gromit, to bring the new scenes to life with the same charm, intricate detail, and quirky contraptions that fans have come to love.

Amanda Thompson OBE, CEO of Pleasure Beach Resort, said:

“Pleasure Beach is renowned not only for introducing exciting new rides, but for constantly investing in updating the story, systems, technology and theming of our classic attractions.
Wallace & Gromit are national treasures, and the success of their new film has delivered renewed excitement for their world. To be updating this wonderful ride truly reaffirms our commitment to attracting families back to the resort for what we hope will be A Grand Day Out.”

In addition to the new ride scenes, the attraction’s queue line is also receiving upgrades, and exclusive merchandise – including Norbot toys and themed gifts – is already available at the park’s dedicated Wallace & Gromit shop.

This new announcement comes on the heels of the reopening of the re-imagined Launch Pad attraction in May, and ahead of two major developments for the park: a revamp of the classic River Caves (with the details still under wraps) and the arrival of a brand-new, record-breaking ride. Slated for 2026, Aviktas will be the UK’s tallest swinging pendulum ride, reaching heights of 138 feet.

Pleasure Beach Resort is now open for the 2025 season, with ticket prices starting at £25.
