Pleasure Beach Resort to Debut New Family Ice Show in 2026

Blackpool's Pleasure Beach Resort is set to enchant audiences next season with an all-new family ice show, Alice, Frozen in a Wonderland of Dreams — a magical reimagining of Lewis Carroll’s classic tale, brought to life on ice.

Created by Stageworks Worldwide, the entertainment division of Pleasure Beach Resort, the new show promises a dazzling blend of storytelling, choreography, and cutting-edge special effects — a hallmark of the creative team’s productions.

The show will debut in 2026 and will be free for all park guests.

A Landmark Year for Pleasure Beach

The new production comes during a milestone year for the Blackpool attraction, as 2026 marks both the park’s 130th anniversary and 90 years of ice shows at the resort. Pleasure Beach CEO and show director Amanda Thompson OBE said the new performance will be a fitting tribute to the park’s heritage.

“It’s a big year for us in 2026; not only do we welcome our new ride, Aviktas, but we’re also celebrating 130 years of Pleasure Beach and 90 years of ice shows,” said Thompson. “We wanted to create a very special show to mark the occasion, and what better way than to utilise the story that has been a huge part of our history.”

A Longstanding Connection to Wonderland

Pleasure Beach’s relationship with Alice in Wonderland runs deep. Directly opposite the park’s famous Ice Arena sits the Alice in Wonderland dark ride, which has delighted generations of families since opening in 1962.

The ride itself has Disney roots — inspired by a visit to Disneyland in California by then-owner Leonard Thompson, who reportedly received personal permission from Walt Disney to model the Blackpool attraction on Disneyland’s own Alice in Wonderland ride.

Over the decades, the attraction has even caught the eye of Hollywood. In 2023, Alice in Wonderland film director Tim Burton was photographed riding the attraction, calling it one of his favourites.

A Magical New Chapter

Amanda Thompson added that Alice, Frozen in a Wonderland of Dreams will combine fantasy, imagination, and world-class ice skating talent in a way that reflects both the charm of the original story and Pleasure Beach’s creative spirit.

“We’re known for putting on a show… and this new performance will take audiences on a breathtaking journey through a world where fantasy, imagination, and world-class athleticism combine in the most extraordinary way,” she said. “I can’t wait for guests to experience this enchanting new chapter in our ice show legacy.”

The show will run as a daytime matinee, complementing the long-running Hot Ice evening spectacular — which continues in 2026 as Hot Ice XC.

Guests with park tickets will be able to enjoy Alice, Frozen in a Wonderland of Dreams at no extra cost, while non-park visitors will be able to purchase separate tickets online through the Pleasure Beach Resort website.
