What to Expect During February Half Term
The popular Surrey theme park will once again combine animal encounters, themed activities and a selection of rides for families looking for something a little different during the school holidays.
Animal Encounters and Wildlife Experiences
Visitors can explore Chessington Zoo and the SEA LIFE Aquarium, home to more than 1,000 animals from around the world. From giraffes, gorillas and penguins to sea lions and colourful marine species, the park’s animal collection is a major highlight during the winter season. Throughout the day, guests can also enjoy animal talks and feeding sessions hosted by the expert zoo team.
Wild Animal Trail
Families can take part in the Wild Animal Trail, a self-guided activity that encourages younger visitors to explore the zoo while learning fun facts about the animals they encounter. Using a spotters guide, children can answer questions along the trail and collect a small prize at the end, making it a popular addition for those visiting with younger guests.
Selected Rides and Attractions
Although Chessington’s full ride line-up does not return until later in the spring, a selection of attractions will be open during February Half Term. These are expected to include family favourites such as Dragon’s Fury, Tomb Blaster, Adventure Tree Carousel and The Gruffalo River Ride Adventure, alongside additional rides suitable for all ages.
SEA LIFE Aquarium
The SEA LIFE Aquarium will be fully open during the event, offering an indoor attraction ideal for winter visits. Guests can discover a range of marine life through themed zones and interactive displays, making it a strong addition to the half term experience.
February Half Term Short Breaks
For families looking to extend their visit, Chessington’s Resort Hotels will be offering February Half Term short break packages. These typically include overnight accommodation, breakfast, complimentary parking and Wi-Fi, providing a convenient option for those wanting to experience everything the resort has to offer over more than one day.
Tickets and Planning Your Visit
Advance day tickets for February Half Term are £22 per person, with children under 90cm able to enter free of charge. Guests are advised to book in advance and check ride availability closer to their visit, as operations can vary during the winter season.
