Officially revealed on Friday 24 October 2025, the production marks a milestone moment for the Staffordshire theme park, combining technical innovation with a family-friendly narrative in a way not often seen in the UK.
We were delighted to be invited to an exclusive first look at the new show during a special preview evening, which also showcased the wider Halloween offering across the park. Guests attending the event enjoyed live entertainment from a DJ, appearances by park mascot Rory the Lion, and the chance to experience several attractions after dark, including the Gold Rush roller coaster.
A Spectacular New Addition
At the heart of the event was the debut of the Monsters & Magic Spectacular, billed as the UK’s largest ever end-of-day show. The display features a 30-metre water screen, more than 65 choreographed fountains, dramatic fire effects, and vivid animated projections, all synchronised to an engaging soundtrack that captivates guests from start to finish.
For those familiar with large-scale nighttime spectaculars at international parks, this production represents a major step forward for the UK industry. The clarity, colour, and definition of the projected visuals were particularly impressive — among the best we’ve seen anywhere. The combination of fire, light, and water creates a show that’s not only visually stunning but also emotionally resonant, perfectly closing out a day at the resort.

A Broader Halloween Offering
This year’s Halloween event at Drayton Manor feels like a complete experience. Alongside the headline show, guests can enjoy a range of seasonal attractions including Monster Castle and The Haunted Express (each £5 per person), both offering good value and family-friendly fun. The Spooky Twilight Zoo Trail also adds a more relaxed way to take in the park’s evening atmosphere. With the Monsters & Magic Spectacular included in standard admission, all visitors can share in the finale’s magic without extra cost.
Looking Ahead
According to Managing Director Victoria Lynn, the resort plans to change the show’s theme seasonally — meaning this impressive display system could return for future events, such as Christmas or summer celebrations. It’s an exciting prospect, signalling a new era for Drayton Manor as it blends its rich heritage with bold creative direction.
Overall, the new Monsters & Magic Halloween event represents a significant step forward, and the new Monsters & Magic Spectacular developed by CRYSTAL establishes Drayton Manor as one of the country’s most forward-thinking family theme parks — providing guests with a truly unforgettable way to end their visit.
