The all-new development marks the end of an era for Amity Beach, the sandy relaxation zone that previously occupied the site. Before its Amity retheme, the area was known as Neptune's Beach and formed part of the park’s original Neptune's Kingdom concept.

A New Space to Rest Between Thrills

According to the park, The Launchpad will serve as a dedicated 'recharge zone' for guests - a place to rest, reset and refuel between rides. Thorpe Park describes the area as part of its ongoing focus on guest comfort alongside its reputation for high-intensity attractions.

Concept imagery and planning details suggest the space will feature:

• A performance stage for entertainment and events
• Food kiosks and refreshment outlets
• Relaxed seating areas
• Shade structures for weather protection
• New planting and landscaping

The new design appears to prioritise capacity, comfort and flexible use throughout the day, offering guests a central hub to pause without leaving the heart of the park.

Evolution of a Classic Location

The site has long served as Thorpe Park’s primary relaxation space, particularly popular in warmer months due to to its sandy setting and fun water features. Its closure represents a notable shift away from a traditional 'beach-style' themed area towards a more functional social space.

Amity Beach previously hosted various events, including Love Island Lates, with games and challenges, live DJ sets and cocktails themed to the TV series. Another previvious attraction was Wet Wet Wet, a 3 lane water slide.

While details on theming, entertainment programming and food offerings have not yet been confirmed, the inclusion of a stage suggests The Launchpad could become a focal point for seasonal events and live experiences.

Opening Timeline
