The talented creative duo of Dave Bateman and Gary Starr are the masterminds behind all the attractions at Fear Island in 2025. These are unique theatrical scare experiences with original storylines, detailed sets and a cast of more than 30 actors that bring them to life.
Each of the key scenes convey the story, which are interspersed with dark and narrow maze sections. A variety of effects are used throughout the attractions, including light, sound and smoke. They are designed to provide a high scare factor, so they are not recommended for children under the age of 12.
All four scare mazes and the two shows are included in a Scream Pass (£22.50 per person). To also enjoy the rest of the rides and attractions at the park, the Fear Island Adventurer and Fear Island Discovery wristbands are available, priced at £34.65 and £46.50 when purchased online.
SNAP (New for 2025)
Within a place, inside a room, there sits a man encased in gloom. He heard a cry and all went black, Up came the axe and his mind went… SNAP. Step right up… if you dare. The curtain rises on a show spiralling into chaos, where the laughter has twisted into something far more sinister. A clown, consumed by madness, teeters on the edge of reality—his world unravelling before your eyes. What’s real? What’s illusion? There’s only one way out… but will you make it? Or will you become part of the act… forever?
Not the classic 'clown maze' as is so typical at scare events - this is a much more theatrical affair with a shocking opening sequence, followed by a relentless walkthrough that builds in intensity as it goes and culminates in a very intimidating finale. We loved it so much we had another go!

9 Circles
Inspired by the deepest pits of the underworld, you’ll brave nine terrifying levels of hell, each more twisted and tormenting than the last. But there’s one thing you must remember—though you walk through the shadows alone, the darkness keeps its own company… This is not an experience for the faint of heart. Those with heart conditions, the young, or the easily terrified should stay far away. Enter at your own risk!
Right from the start, groups are separated and each brave soul is locked in a standing coffin. Greeted by a nun and promptly cursed, our terrifying visit to the underworld was intense, and we encountered many trapped and tormented characters on our journey.

The Ravenous
Journey into the depths of a secluded cabin and uncover the dark and disturbing secrets of a family consumed by an insatiable hunger. Escape the clutches of the family as they insist on having you for dinner.
This award-winning scare experience returns once again, with the interactivity of the actors dialled up to the maximum. From the character seemingly eating dog food from a can at the entrance, to the member of the family stroking our hand during the meal at the dinner table, the whole attraction feels somewhat unhinged!

The Phantoms of Psycho Mansion
A séance gone terribly wrong has banished the former residents and unleashed a family of silly spooks and restless souls of the house’s tragic past, and now they roam the halls, eager for visitors.
This multi-level attraction combines animatronics, live actors and practical effects. This one has been significantly toned down since the original version - with it being only a 'mild scare' attraction now. We still enjoyed the two main scenes and the very creepy girl on the balcony delivered a stand out performance.

Toucan Tours and the Secret of the Mummy's Tomb
Get ready to venture back into the haunted temple and see if you can unravel the Mystery of the Mummy! Perfect for families, Toucan Tours is a frightfully fun Halloween adventure that everyone can enjoy.
One of the park's charming indoor dark rides has been given a spooky Halloween makeover for the event. Somewhat scaled back since our last visit, but it still offers something fun for younger guests.
Pirates of Fear Island Bay
Sing-a-long and set sail for a family adventure! Join the silly, spooky Pirates Of Fear Island Bay for a panto style show with a haunting twist!
Dr. Grimm’s Side Show of Fear
Step into the dark and twisted world of Dr. Grimm’s Side Show of Fear, a macabre Victorian spectacle where the strange, the sinister, and the supernatural collide. This outdoor stage production delivers a gripping blend of eerie performances, grotesque curiosities, and high-energy frights, immersing audiences in an experience straight out of a twisted 19th-century nightmare.
On our previous visit, we were a little underwhelmed by the Circus of Screams, so we were delighted to see this superior offering. Located in the heart of the new Fear Island zone, with multiple performances each day, the show is very entertaining and we much prefer the more informal staging. Rather than being confined to your seats in a 'big top', you are free to roam the area, grab a bite to eat or enjoy something to drink. It adds so much to the atmosphere of the event.

We love what Fantasy Island has done with the event this year. They've built on the best bits of previous years, dialled up the scares with a particularly strong and professional cast, and brought everything together in one area, massively improving the atmosphere.
The event is only open at night on two dates this year (for the VIP event and on 25th October), which seems a shame given how spectacular the new Fear Island zone looks in the dark, and we hope to see more extended opening in 2026.
Fear Island continues on 22nd – 26th October and 29th October – 2nd November 2025. Don't miss out on this must-visit event!
